SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT Review

Today we take a look at the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT.

Remember that time when you had to save up for a good couple of months and survive on cup noodles just to buy a graphics card? Yeah, dark times indeed. We’re not out of the woods yet to be honest, but it seems where almost there with the end of GPU mining and all that. So, what better way to celebrate that victory by starting the day with a review of the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT? Thing’s as thick as they come.

PACKAGING

Not much jazz coming along here in the packaging. You’ll get the RX 6750 XT here of course, together with a bundled GPU support bracket because, as we’ve mentioned before, THIS. THING. IS. MASSIVE. Takes up three slots that I had to go out of my way and move house for my test rig to make room for it. And yeah by house I mean PC case.

Pictured here is the GPU support bracket with some fancy adjustment mechanism similar to that of a box cutter. 

DESIGN

I can't comment enough on how massive SAPPHIRE's RX 6750 XT is. Its sheer size and thickness would require ample working space, so small form factor cases are a no-go on this one.   

The SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT features a triple fan setup. SAPPHIRE calls the fans for this one Angular Velocity Blade, which they say provides a double layer of downward air pressure, and combined with the air pressure on the outer ring results in up to 44% more downward air pressure and up to 19% more airflow compared to the previous generations. Now we don't have a NITRO+ GPU from the  previous gen so we can't really comment on the comparison. But anyway, moving forward...

That's a sweet looking backplate if I do say so myself. Looks preem and solid. And on to the ports, you'll get 1 HDMI port and 3 DisplayPorts. 

PERFORMANCE

Small form factor really isn’t going to cut it as we've mentioned before, so we gotta take out the test bench again in order to test Sapphire’s RX 6750 XT. With that said, we’re working with our Ryzen 5 3600X, AORUS X570 ELITE, 16GB of RAM and a 750W PSU on the Thermaltake P3 so we can get it all started.

3DMark Time Spy is a DirectX 12 benchmark test for Windows 10 gaming PCs. Time Spy is one of the first DirectX 12 apps to be built the right way from the ground up to fully realize the performance gains that the new API offers. With its Extreme counterpart rendering visuals in 4K.

3DMark Firestrike

Fire Strike is a showcase DirectX 11 benchmark for modern gaming PCs. Its ambitious real-time graphics are rendered with detail and complexity far beyond other DirectX 11 benchmarks and games. With Extreme and Ultra versions raising resolution in 25650 x 1440 and 4K.

3DMark Port Royal

We really don't want to mess with Ray Tracing as we value performance fluidity over graphics. We'd rather crank up everything to max barring Ray Tracing, because games without it still look beautiful. So, here's 3DMark Port Royal if you're looking for Ray Tracing numbers.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is an open world action RPG by Ubisoft. No Ray Tracing here, but it's still a taxing game nonetheless.

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is an action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt. The story takes place in Night City, an open world set in the Cyberpunk universe. The game features an integrated benchmark tool that we can use for testing.

Temperature

Our temperature tests are done with the system idle in the first 30 minutes after boot up, and afterwards a load test of 3DMark Time Spy on loop for another 30 minutes.

CONCLUSION

SAPPHIRE positions its RX 6750 XT as a 1440P doer, and truth be told it can even take you further depending on your titles of choice and what you find acceptable. 

To be honest, I really planned on just settling with my small form factor PC setup and see how it goes from there for a change of pace despite the limitations on PCIe 3.0 on my A520 ITX motherboard. But again, the sheer size of Sapphire’s RX 6750 XT demands otherwise, so here we are.

It's hard to draw conclusions given the current state of the market still. For the life of us we can't find the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT in the local market, but the PULSE variant is present at PHP 32,999 on Lazada. So we could expect the price to be around that or a bit higher, but again that will be hugely dependent on the retailer as we see other stores selling it way above that mark. 

To wrap it all up, the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT can serve as a great option if you're looking to game on 1440P, and again you can even push it further depending on the games you play. Cooling performance is topnotch, and noise levels are decent given that you don't have to suffer over the sound of a jet engine taking off whenever it's under heavy load. Aesthetics are also sweet, even more so with that backplate jazzing it up further. You won't be disappointed.
